mould in sugar water

Three weeks ago, I did a little experiment to see how long it would take for half a glass of sugar to dissolve in half a glass of water. It took too long for the change to be very visible, but a few days later some flecks of mould appeared. Two weeks ago the mould on the sugar water began to spread out across the surface.



One week ago, the mould was growing slimy tentacles, so I threw it out.
